Thrilock

How your venue uses Thril's own Thrilock access control every day, and the few things you do by hand.

Thrilock is Thril's own access control system. It opens your doors for the right people at the right time. Thril installs and sets up the hardware, so contact Thril support to get started.

Select Thrilock in the left-hand menu to open everything on this page.

Almost all of it is automatic

You do not normally need to operate Thrilock at all.

  • A booking creates the access for that booking. It ends when the booking ends. Nobody has to switch it off.
  • Event sign-ups and service bookings work the same way.
  • A membership creates the access for that member. It lasts as long as the membership is valid.
  • Thril takes membership access away by itself when the membership ends, pauses or has an unpaid bill. Thril gives it back when the membership is in order again.
  • Codes are created the same way. A booking gets one shared code. A member gets a personal code when the membership is set up to give one.

Thrilock → Assignments lists every access. Automatic ones are marked Integration assignment. Ones you made yourself are marked Manual assignment.

What you do by hand

Open a door now

  1. Select Thrilock in the left-hand menu, then Open door remotely.
  2. Select the door you want.
  3. The door unlocks, and a countdown shows how long it stays open.

The Thrilock button at the bottom of the left-hand menu opens the same Door remote from any page.

Give somebody access by hand

Do this for a cleaner, a contractor or a guest who has no booking and no membership.

  1. Open Thrilock → Assignments.
  2. Select Grant access.
  3. Fill in the five steps: Who, Where, How, When and Confirm.
  4. Select Grant access to finish.

If the new access needs a code, Thrilock shows it once as a New PIN. Select Copy PIN and give the code to the person.

Take access away

Open Thrilock → Assignments and find the row.

  • Disable stops the access. Select Enable to switch it back on later.
  • Revoke removes the access for good.

Revoke cannot be undone. Use Disable when you are not sure.

Look up what happened at a door

Open Thrilock → Event log. It lists what happened at your doors, newest first. It also lists changes you or the system made, such as a new access or a new tag.

Reading the event log

The log answers the two questions you actually ask.

Did this person get in?

  1. Choose a date range: Today, 7 days or 30 days.
  2. Choose the person under Users.
  3. Read the Outcome column. OK means the person was let in. Denied means they were not.
  4. Select the row. Reason tells you why, for example Outside access window or No credential.

Is the door working?

  1. Choose the door under Door.
  2. Leave the other filters empty.
  3. Recent rows with OK mean the door still lets other people in.
  4. No rows at all mean nobody used that door in the period you chose.

When something looks wrong

  1. Open the Thrilock page. Read any warning at the top. It names the doors that cannot take commands.
  2. Select Open door remotely and try that door. If it opens, the hardware is fine and the problem is the person's access.
  3. Open Thrilock → Event log. Read Reason on the person's newest Denied row.
  4. Contact Thril support if the reason does not explain it. Give the door name, the person's name and the time they tried.
