Programs (WODs)
Compose sections into a program, the workout of the day athletes see on a class and log their results against.
A program is an ordered set of sections, for example a warm-up, a strength lift, and a conditioning piece. This is the WOD as it will appear on a class. Build programs from the Programs tab under Programming.
Creating a program
Click Create program to open the two-step wizard.
Step 1: Name & description
- Program name: required
- Description: shown to athletes on the class page
- Coach notes: internal notes visible to coaches only, never shown to athletes
Step 2: Sections
Search the section library and add published sections to the program, a section can be added more than once. Reorder, duplicate, or remove sections using the composition list's controls. Click Add custom section to build a one-off section inline instead of picking from the library.
Editing a section inline while composing the program offers two switches:
- Save as a new section template: adds this section to your library so it can be reused elsewhere
- Set as benchmark section: makes it a tracked benchmark, so athletes get PR tracking for it
If the section you're editing is locked, shared with other programs, or already a library section, your edits are saved as a new, forked section instead of changing the original. A warning explains this before you save. The benchmark flag is never carried over to a fork.
Finish with Save as draft while you're still working on it, or Save and publish once it's ready to attach to a class.
Program detail view
Open a saved program to see its description, coach notes, the ordered list of sections (click a section to see its full detail), and every class it's linked to. From here you can assign it to classes, and Edit, Publish (if still a draft), Copy program, or Delete it. Deleting isn't available for a locked program.

Locking and duplicating
Once any athlete logs a result against one of a program's sections, the program locks: only its name, description, and coach notes can still be edited. Its section composition is frozen and it can no longer be deleted, which keeps the logged results comparable.
Use Copy program from the Actions menu to duplicate it, composition and metadata included, into a new, editable program.
✅ Best practices
- Build your section library first, programs go together faster when the pieces already exist
- Use coach notes for scaling guidance or coaching cues you don't want visible to athletes
- Copy a locked program instead of trying to edit it, so the original's logged history stays intact
- Publish a program before assigning it to a class, athletes only see published programs
