# Memberships, cards & wallet (/en/consumers/memberships-and-wallet)

Beyond paying for a single booking, many venues let you hold ongoing value with Thril: memberships, session cards, credits, and gift cards. Here's how each one works and where to find it.

***

## Wallet [#wallet]

Your **Wallet** is where the value you hold lives. Open it to see your **credits**, **gift cards**, **session cards**, and their **expiry dates**. Balances are tied to the venue (or, in some cases, the venue chain) where you hold them.

## Memberships [#memberships]

Many venues sell **memberships** that give you recurring access or perks. Buy one from the venue's page, and it's ready to use the next time you book.

### Booking limits [#booking-limits]

A membership can come with limits on how much you can book with it — for example six evening bookings a month, or no two bookings running at the same time. A limit can cover everything, or only certain days, times, sports, courts or reservation types.

Open the membership under **Settings** (on the web) or your **Wallet** (in the mobile app) to see each limit and how much of it you have used.

When you reach a limit, one of two things happens, and the membership says which:

* **You cannot book more** with that membership until something frees up.
* **You pay the venue's standard price** for the extra bookings. The price you see when you pick the slot is the price you are charged.

Cancelling a booking frees its allowance again. A booking you have listed for sale still uses it.

### Recurring memberships & renewals [#recurring-memberships--renewals]

Some memberships renew automatically on a recurring schedule. If a renewal payment can't be taken:

* You'll be **notified**, and you have **7 days** to resolve it.
* After that, what happens depends on the membership type:
  * Memberships with **no fixed term** simply **end**.
  * Memberships on a **fixed-term contract** stay active but are **restricted**: you won't be able to make new bookings with the membership until the outstanding payment is settled.

### Cancelling or changing a membership [#cancelling-or-changing-a-membership]

For a recurring membership, you can often cancel it yourself: open the membership under **Settings** (on the web) or your **Wallet** (in the mobile app) and choose **Terminate membership**.

* For memberships with **no fixed term**, cancelling stops the next renewal, and your membership ends when the current period runs out.
* For memberships on a **fixed-term contract** with a notice period, your membership ends after that termination period has passed.

If you don't see the option, or you want to make other changes, contact the **venue**.

## Session cards [#session-cards]

A **session card** is a prepaid bundle of sessions you buy up front and then use towards eligible bookings.

* Each card covers a set number of sessions and can be used for the courts, services, events, or course enrollments the venue has made it valid for. The card itself lists them under **Can be used for**, both in the shop before you buy and in your Wallet afterwards, so you can check which events and courses it covers before you pay.
* Cards have a **validity period**. For some, the clock starts when you buy it; for others, from your first use.
* You can see your **remaining sessions** and **expiry** in your [Wallet](#wallet).

## Credits & gift cards [#credits--gift-cards]

* **Credits** are a balance you hold at a venue (or chain). You can spend them in the app towards eligible bookings and purchases there. Credits may **expire**, and they're **non-refundable and non-transferable**.
* **Gift cards** have a code and a balance of their own. Whoever has the code can spend it at checkout, in part or in full, until the balance runs out or the card expires. Cards you buy or get from a venue show in your Wallet. Use **Check a gift card** to see the balance and expiry of any code, without signing in.

<Callout type="info">
  Session cards, credits, and gift cards are generally **non-refundable**, so
  they're best bought when you know you'll use them. Always check the expiry in
  your Wallet.

### What you can pay for with credits [#what-you-can-pay-for-with-credits]

Credits work like money at the venue where you hold them. You can pay with them for:

* reservations and recurring reservations
* events, tournaments and courses
* league registrations
* service bookings
* session cards
* shop products and rentals
* memberships, when the venue allows it.

You can't buy credits, gift cards or invoices with credits. If your basket has one of these, checkout doesn't offer credits for that payment. Buy it in a separate payment.

Credits are never spent automatically. You choose to use them at checkout, and the ones that expire soonest are used first. It doesn't matter whether you bought the credits, got them as a refund or received them from the venue. They all work the same way.

Credits you bought with an employee benefit such as Epassi or Edenred pay only for things the venue accepts the benefit for. At checkout you see how much of your balance you can use on that purchase.

## Promo codes [#promo-codes]

Have a **promo code**? Enter it at checkout to apply the offer to your purchase.
