# Reviews (/en/businesses/seo/reviews)

Reviews are one of the things Google uses to decide how prominent your venue is ([Google: How to improve your local ranking](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7091)). They also help people choose you.

## Ask at the right moment [#ask-at-the-right-moment]

The best time to ask is right after a good experience: after a match, a class or a tournament.

1. In your Google Business Profile, create a review link or QR code ([Google: Tips to get more reviews](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3474122)).
2. Put the QR code at your reception or in the changing room.
3. Share the link in your newsletter or in a message after a visit.

## Rules you must follow [#rules-you-must-follow]

* **Don't pay or reward for reviews.** Discounts, free sessions or prizes in exchange for a review are against Google's rules and can get reviews removed ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3474122)).
* Don't write reviews yourself or ask staff to. Reviews must reflect a genuine experience ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3474122)).

## Answer every review [#answer-every-review]

* **Positive:** thank them, and mention something specific. "Thanks Jonna, great to hear you enjoyed the Friday tournament!"
* **Negative:** stay calm and polite. Say sorry for the experience, explain what you'll do, and offer to continue the discussion privately.
* Keep answers short. Other customers read them too.
